Aimed at individuals currently seeking new employment opportunities, these bespoke workshops have been carefully crafted to assist with both personal and practical skills. Using a combination of direct learning, research, job brokerage and work trials, this carefully balanced programme will give candidates all the essential abilities and knowledge required to enter today’s workplace.
The WORK IN-SIGHT (WIS) programme
The first programme of workshops has been engineered to give those taking part a strong foundation of personal skills to build on. Presented in a modular format, candidates can select the specific areas they need to work on. Among the topics tackled in the workshop are building self-esteem and confidence, timekeeping, and ways to stay motivated. The value of clear communication goal setting will also be covered along with the importance of both equality and diversity in the modern work environment.
The second part of the programmes looks at more practical aspects of gaining employment. Tips on personal presentation will be given along with interview techniques to prepare candidates for meeting employers face to face. Guidance on making applications effectively will be covered and advice given regarding long-term careers and potential self-employed opportunities.
